On My Way To The Tournament

March 20, 2010

Neely Henry

Water temp: 55

Landing: Rainbow Landing

This event was super tough and the winning weights sums up exactly how tough it was to get a bite on Neely Henry today.

Vincent Medlock got the win with two bass weighing 3Lbs 3ozs. Darryl Witherspoon followed in second with one bass at 1Lb 3ozs.

To wrap up a tough bite, Bryan Butler took third place with one bass at 15ozs. Medlock also won the big fish of the day with a 1Lb 13ozs Lunker lol.

However a win is a win and these guys were able to accomplish something the rest of us failed to do and that was catch a fish.

A matter of fact most of us didn't even get a bite, that includes me even though I caught three keepers in practice last week but a cold front came through and stunded the fish again.

On a safety note I would like to let everyone know that because of my kill switch and hot foot it saved the day for me.

Because upon blast off the boat in front of me engine died, and I had to go around them getting out of my track in order not to hit them.

I hit a floating log that I could not see, I went air bourn and when I landed it had thrown me on my back deck against the motor.

It was a experience I hope to never again see happen, which I got up and checked my boat and didn't see any damage, so I took my time and went on to my first location, and the boat ran fine.

Upon completion of the tournament when I took my boat out of the water I noticed a chuck of metal had been knocked off my scagg.

And of course I felt it the next day my ribs and back was really sore from being tumbled around the boat.

So always wear your life vest and attach your kill switch no matter what when on the water.
