Road to AOY

by Jeffery Bobbs Jr.
(Birmingham, AL)

Road to the A.O.Y 2/14/10

V. Medlock gave us the what, where, and how to catch fish during his seminar at the February meeting. He explained how he worked to get to the top by fishing with only a few key baits for the whole year. A pop R, Shakeyhead, chartreuse sexy shad (KVD) and texas rigged plastics. He explained the many techniques to fish these baits efficiently.

Good job 2009 AOY: Vincent Medlock

2/20/10

Ronald D. This man has came in with his eyes on the prize. And that is first place. Ron has set out to become the next AOY of Goldenrod already. He will show his skill to pay the bills in 2010. He comes in and takes the lead at the season opener. At Mitchell his fish was caught on texas rig plastics off secondary points.

Richard J. Has showed that he can pull it off no matter the conditions. Richard worked what he knows best a shakyhead with a watermelon candy worm. Will we see the new and improved chunk & wind for 2010 ? I think richard can be AOY only if he keeps putting up big numbers this year like he has so far.

Jackie P. Took a little time off last year, but now he's back with guns blazing . Making a statement with two fish to take third place, this angler could be a threat. He also leads the big fish race with a 4Lber caught with a sweet beaver on the wood at Mitchell. But will that big fish hold up for the year or will it fold on Guntersville. Only time will tell.

I would like to thank you for taking your time to read this. Keep on the look out for updates for THE ROAD TO THE A.O.Y and other fishing articles.

JEFF JR.
