RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS TO YOUR BASS FISHING CLUBS

The actions you take to recruit new members in the beginning can be difficult, because it will take some hard work on part of the whole bass club to make sure your fishing club will be around a long time. Many members lack the motivation it will take to ensure you grow your memberships, but there are several things you can do to help others know your bass club exists. I would have to ask how many people have you talked to ?

  • Have you told friends about the bass club?
  • Have you talked to co-workers?
  • Have you talked to members of any other organizations you belong to?
  • Have you spoken with other fishermen you may have seen at a boat ramp?

These are a few things each member should do for the club in order to help grow new memberships. The thing everyone needs to keep in mind, is that it takes money to run a bass club and the more members you have the easier it will be on the pockets of a few.

So at the in of the year you can have nice Trophies like these, if you earn one you will have it for the rest of your life to remind you of your accomplishments.

There are other ways you can recruit new members to the bass club, that only require a little foot work. Have members go to your local boat shows in your area, they have a lot of people coming out to them.

  • Make up flyers to pass out with your club information, and be truthful about the amount of members you have and what your bass club is all about.

  • If your club has purchased shirts, by all means show off your bass club colors.

  • Have you posted a flyer in local tackle shops, boat ramps, boat dealers, and even local convenient stores you visit.

  • Have any of the bass club members put the name of the club on their boats.

If you get one new member to join your bass club, then you have accomplished your goal because each person you get to join there is a possibility he can bring a friend along with him.

My Girlfriend

When your bass club gets established you may want to talk about joining the federation, (FLW,BASS) this also will help to bring in new members who would want to be a part of your club.

There are a lot of charity tournaments that a I have fished across the U.S. so I would advise helping out in some charity tournaments, even if your not the host wear your club shirts, and pass out cards. Keep in mind the charities always give thanks to organizationsthat help out in what ever role your fishing club will assist in.

Your club can host an open tournament, while there ask the wives to come out to cook burgers, soda's, and baked goods to help your club gain money and exposure to the public.

I am just giving some ideas, but the main thing is to talk to your bass club members to get their ideas. Teach New Members on Sharing Bass Fishing-Info
