High School Bass Fishing results on Logan Martin

A message to all members of Alabama High School Bass Fishing Clubs

The team of Jackson and Spencer Parker from Decatur Heritage caught 16.01 lbs of Logan Martin bass to beat the other 16 teams fishing in the State Championship on Saturday. Blake Gowen was their boat captain. There is a picture in the first article on the main page of the website of the boys hoisting their trophy in victory. Great job guys!! Rose and Karen have posted albums of the event and they are in the state championship albums on the main page. It is pretty easy to click those pictures and right click on them to save the picture to your computer and print it or keep for the future. I have about 300 more pictures that I will get from Jason Jerkins and post on the site in a day or so. Don't forget you can also go to Your School Live and watch the event.



Below I am pasting a reply I made to a blog post by Cody Flourney on our site, but really it applies to most of you on this email list too. I could have put many of your names in the place of the names listed Thanks to all who helped make this year a great one!!



It was a great first year. Karen and Rose are amazing to work with. Both of their hearts are tuned toward making these tournaments be good for the students and I think that we were successful at pulling that off. From the very beginning this year was designed to be a positive, fun and competitive tournament series that would get the word out and give our Alabama High Schools a snapshot of what the future could be like. The thought from the beginning was to create a ripple, not a tidal wave. Next year is going to be "over the top"!! I can't wait!!



Nothing would have been possible without the student anglers, faculty advisors, boat captains, and the administrators that saw the vision of what competitive bass fishing in our schools could do to benefit our students. To be truthful, without these open minded and visionary administrators, none of this would have been possible.
