Well I can't believe it my husband has turned me in to a bass aholic. If you would have told me that twenty years ago I would have told you that you was out of your mind.
He was the first person to take me fishing we had just got married and moved to Virginia he was in the Navy.
He had and alumium boat then It was hot and he showed me how to use a spinning reel I kept getting hung up
because I couldn't cast.
Well there was a tree hanging out over the water thought that looked like a good place to cast, but I missed and threw it in the tree. It got hung up I was reeling and pulling and the boat was getting closer to the tree I was more interested in getting my lure unstuck than what was in the tree.
Louis starts yelling for me to look out, I jumped and turn around real quick hit the limb above me and knock a snake in my lab.
Its squirming around in my lab I push in the floor of the boat I look up and louis is already at the back of the boat I thought he was going to jump but he just stopped turned around and looked at me.
I know now he must have really loved me cause he is afraid of four kinds of snakes big, little, dead, and alive. If he would have had a gun he would have sunk the boat. So
he takes his rod and is trying to hold it down so I can get to the back of the boat. After I get to the back he saids ok you watch the snake make sure it stays to the front while I get us to land.
He drove straight to land beached the boat, jumped out and kept going. I asked what he was going to do about the snake in the boat. He replied he was leaving the boat because he was not going to get back in the boat. that the snake could have it.
We were lucky a man heard us and asked what was wrong, he looked in the boat and stated it was just a brown water snake and took it out for us.
After that he didn't take me fishing for about two years the second trip wasn;t much better but thats another story until next time...
