Fun at The Tournaments
PELL CITY, Ala. The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to Logan Martin Lake May 8 for the third of five stops in the Bama Division. I lived in pell city for four years and have fished logan
Martin quite often.
As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will compete for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively. I plan to get in on the action myself this time.
This time of the year the fish will be moving out to a post-spawn pattern out on ledges and humps. said FLW Tour pro Greg Pugh of Cullman, Ala. Who has won more than $668,000 in FLW Outdoors competition.
You should be able to catch them on a Carolina rig, a shaky-head rig with a finesse worm or a deep-diving crankbait. Color won't matter as long as it's chartreuse and blue or chartreuse and brown.
You should also find fish on points early in mornings and they will hit a topwater, too.
Takeoff and weigh-in will be at Lakeside Park located at 2801 Stemly Bridge Road in Pell City, Ala. Takeoff is scheduled for 5:30 a.m., while weigh-in will begin at 2 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
The BFL is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, offering even bigger prizes to those who qualify for regional championships and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing.
The BFL All-American presented by the Chevy Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
