Techniques is the guide lines to help you put a limit in the boat, by using the bass fishing techniques you can learn the basic patterns
used across the nation on most lakes during winter, spring, summer, and fall.
There are a lot of things to learn about a particular
body of water, but the first thing you need to know is what does a bass normally do during this time of year?
What I have found out is that a lot of winter and summer patterns are similar in many ways. Two words can sum it up (go deep)by
saying that I mean you can catch a limit of fish off of points and ledges adjacent to deep water. Fishing deep structure line
rocks, and pylons are a sure fire target both.
times of the year.
Now we talked about bass fishing techniques for winter and summer being similar guest what? spring and fall are very similar as well
you just have to reverse the patterns. In the spring I start fishing on a main lake point adjacent to deep water and start working
my way back in the creek paying special attention to the mouth of the creek.
In the fall of the season I start in the very back of a cove or creek, then work my way out. I try to pay special attention to my
surroundings, like shad flipping on the water, birds feeding , checking my electronics constantly looking for balls of shad and
the depth, and temperature of the water.
What I am also paying attention to is the type of structure I am fishing wood, grass, rocks, was it a shaded or sunny area. When
I get my first bass to bite I will make a mental note and try to repeat the same thing in that area, if I continue to get bitten
then it is time to duplicate this in another area, if you get bit again then you have established a pattern.
Remember the core of the lures you use will be the same and they are plastics, jigs, crank baits, spinner baits, the only things
that will change is the size, color, type, and how they are fished.
